About me and my family

I was born in Brazil, where I lived for half of my life. The other half, I have spent in Europe with my husband moving from place to place, trying to find our paradise to settle down. We now live in Geneva, Switzerland, where we plan to be staying for a while, as it feels very close to what we call perfection, I hope it doesn't spoil us too much.

My passion for food started a long time ago, even if I didn't realize much at the time. I was brought up in a macrobiotic family and food was consumed not just for pleasure but also for prevention and treatment. Later on, driven by a desire to help other people get healthier, I have decided to pursue Nutrition as a career. However, a couple of years later my destiny (and my marriage) took me to a far away land and I needed to put this dream on hold for a while.

At the age of 29, I was diagnosed with severe endometriosis and infertility. Despite suffering intense pain and disconfort, this wasn't as sad as it seems. It actually helped me change the course of my life and search for answers and better outcomes. Being determined to find a more natural and sustainable solution to the situation, I refused to take the drugs recommended by the doctors for suppressing the disease.

I searched for help from many different professionals; Acupuncturists, Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Therapists, Homeopaths, Nutritionists and they were all very helpful to me but it wasn’t until I started to look at life in a more holistic way, getting rid of my fears and finding my passions, that I could see real improvements in my health and my personal life.

That made me realize the importance of a professional that could introduce all this aspects into someone's life. And finally, by that time I found out about the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York, where I have later graduated as a Holistic health Coach.

Today, I’m a mother of 2 little kids and I have a very happy life with my family.

I like to practice meditation, yoga and hiking but I also enjoy massages, going to spas, getting my nails done or just laying on the beach doing nothing.

By living far from all my relatives, I think it's important to have someone that I can count with, either to celebrate or to share sad moments, someone I can trust, that won't judge me or my ideas. This is essential in keeping me happy and sane.

If you share my thoughts and are committed to work with me, I promise to be the person you need to guide you to achieve your health and life goals, to celebrate every milestone and also be there to listen to your fears and concerns. I have always wanted to work with people’s development and doing so as a health coach was one of the best things that happened to me!

I wish you lot’s of happiness,

Mitia Ribeiro
